“That the God
of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of
wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding
being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what
the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints” Ephesians 1:17-18
(KJV).
God
wants us to live our lives with certainty; this certainty will only come from
our spirits and an understanding of God’s plan and purpose for our lives.
Kenneth
Hagin spoke about a young man who in seven years went from fifty dollars to
seven million dollars. And they said this young man never invests or does any
business until he knows in his spirit, he has meditated on the word of God, to
know exactly what God wants him to do or he is not going to take that step. At
the time Kenneth Hagin was preaching this particular message, he said, the
young man was about to hit a deal that will cause him to make about fifty
million dollars.
The
young man said that there are sometimes deals will come to him that looks so
enticing and his head will be telling him that if he does not invest in this,
he will lose a big deal. Yet he says I will just wait until I hear from the
Spirit, and he will let it pass.
Paul
lived with such certainty because he knew what he was called to do and that was
all he did.
In
Ephesians 3:8-9, Paul said, “Unto me, who am less than the least of all
saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the
unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is
the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been
hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ”.
This is in line with what God said to Paul in his
vision in Acts 26:18, “To open their eyes …” Why does God want your eyes to be
open. It is because spiritual sight is important to accessing your inheritance.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 says, “But if our gospel be
hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In
whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not,
lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,
should shine unto them.” This reveals to us that the unbeliever is blind.
Ephesians 4:17-18 says, “This I say therefore,
and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in
the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated
from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the
blindness of their heart.”
This is why you need to pray Ephesians 1:17 for
yourself. As you do, the eyes of your heart will be enlightened and revelations
of God’s Spirit will flood your heart.
PRAYER
Father I ask today, that you grant unto me the
Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. In Jesus Name. Amen.
Read: Psalm 119:18, Luke 24:45, Revelation 3:18.
DOING THE WORD
Live from your spirit, don’t live from your head.
