Be like Jesus.

Sunday, July 17th Be like Jesus. “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” Romans 15:4 God wants us to learn from the scriptures. Growing up as a child, I remember learning the acronym B-I-B-L-E as Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. I think you should teach the same to your children. The scripture is God's guide book for our living on earth. Therefore, if we are going to learn from Jesus, we must go to the Bible and read the scriptures because they speak concerning Him. Jesus Christ is God's pattern Son. In other words, Jesus is our example. He is the example of who we should be and how we should live as sons of God. God wants every one of us to be like Jesus. Romans 8:29(MSG) says, “God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him.” The primary way we are going to learn to become like Jesus is through the scriptures. Ephesians 4:12-13(AMP), “His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church), [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him.” Prayer. Dear Father, I thank you for as I look into your Word, the perfect law of liberty, I am changed daily from glory to glory by the power of your Spirit, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: 2 Corinthians 3:18, Colossians 3:4, 1 John 3:2. Doing the Word Measure yourself and your potential by Christ alone. Bible reading for today: Mark chapters 1-6.
