Receive rhema

Tuesday, July 19th Receive rhema. “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4 The word 'word' in Matthew 4:4 above refers to 'rhema' in the Greek. This refers to 'an utterance,' 'the speaking word,' 'the spoken word;' 'it is God's word to a specific person at a specific time for a specific purpose.’ Go for rhema. Rhema is received by revelation and it is revelation that accentuates growth. Therefore, when you receive the Word of God you are reading or hearing as God talking to you that is when you will be able to receive rhema, which will also aid your spiritual growth. Every time you receive rhema you are nourished. Do you know it is possible to be full of food and yet be malnourished? That is because, there is a need for balanced diet. In the same way spiritually, there is a Word you need at a particular time to thrust you forward in your walk. There is a Word you need that will produce what you believe for in your life. You would have to search for that Word until you get rhema. That is what changes you and changes your situation. One of the ways you receive rhema is through meditation. Rhema comes to you as God quickens that verse you are meditating on to you. Also, you can receive rhema when listening to a message. The Word that hits your spirit as you are listening to the message is your rhema. The rhema of God is full of power. Hebrews 1:3 lets us know that God upholds all things by the Word (rhema) of His power. Therefore, you know you have received a rhema from God when the Word you received strengthens your spirit and empowers you. Prayer. Dear Father, I thank you because, your Word in season is coming to me in this season as I hear, study and meditate on your Word, in Jesus' Name. Amen. For further study, read: Psalm 107:20, Psalm 147:15, Matthew 8:8. Doing the Word Always receive the Word with a readiness of mind. Bible reading for today: John chapters 18-21 and Mark chapters 7-8.
