Worship Jesus

Friday, July 1st Worship Jesus. “Scripture says, "As certainly as I live, says the Lord, everyone will worship me, and everyone will praise God."” Romans 14:11(GW) During my days in the university, I met a young man who said he does not believe we should sing songs of worship to Jesus. When I asked why? He gave me the instance in Luke 18:18-19, “And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.” So, his point was that if Jesus was God why did He say they should not call Him good. Whenever I meet people who have such an understanding, I always show them Philippians 2:5-11(MSG), “Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn't think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn't claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death--and the worst kind of death at that: a crucifixion. Because of that obedience, God lifted him high and honored him far beyond anyone or anything, ever, so that all created beings in heaven and on earth--even those long ago dead and buried--will bow in worship before this Jesus Christ, and call out in praise that he is the Master of all, to the glorious honor of God the Father.” This shows us that there is nothing wrong with worshiping Jesus. We are commanded to worship Him because He is the Master of all. Also, whenever we worship Jesus, we are giving glorious honour to God the Father. The Bible also says in John 5:23, “That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.” Instruction. Glorify Jesus for who He is by singing songs of worship and praise to His Name. Doing the Word Read these Psalms in praise to the Name of the Lord: Psalm 113 and Psalm 149. Note: In other to have a deeper revelation of Jesus I encourage you to take the challenge of reading all the gospels three times this month. To begin today, read Matthew chapters 1-5.
