Love unconditionally 1.

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it”
Ephesians 5:25(KJV)

Today, I want to show you why some husbands and their wives are not experiencing as much progress as they were experiencing before they got married. Husbands and wives are meant to live in love. In Colossians 3:18-19, the Bible says, “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.”

When the word of God admonishes husbands to love their wives, He expects them to love their wives unconditionally. It does not matter if you are a young man, middle aged man or an old man, if you do not love your wife unconditionally, you do not love her. This is because the word for love in the verse we just read above is 'agape.' Agape means unconditional love. It is an unconditional commitment to the well being of another. This means that every husband must seek the well being of his wife if you are going to see genuine progress.

Hebrews 12:15 says,  “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled”  There are some men out there who have fallen from the grace and favour of God because they are bitter against their wives. As a man or woman, by the time you begin to live in bitterness against your spouse, you will open the door to satan to bring trouble into  your home. But if you refuse to live in bitterness, you will be free no matter what the witches do against you, they would have no inroad into your life.

Ephesians 4:26-27 says, “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.” From this scripture we can see that satan's opportunity into your home or your marriage is anger. So, today, let go of anger and bitterness in your heart and forgive your husband or your wife.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for teaching me the Bible way to love. Thank you Father for grace to love everyone; including my wife and my husband unconditionally even as Christ loves me and gave himself for me in Jesus Name. Amen.
