Respond to His goodness

"Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?"

Romans 2:4

Our opening scripture reveals that God intends to use His goodness and loving kindness towards us to lead us to repentance. This is why when you find out how good, caring and understanding God is, reaching out to Him becomes easier.

There was a time a young man who had committed a terrible sin came to me. He told me that he came to find out if God could forgive him of that sin. I said to him, "God can forgive any sin." He answered and said, "You do not know the sin I have committed." I told him that I did not need to know the sin he committed. But one thing I knew was that the blood of Jesus could cleanse any sin.

The Bible says in 1 John 1:7-9, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

So I told that young man, "If what you committed was sin, the Bible reveals that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin." When he heard this, he started crying. He got restored to Christ and decided to get involved in serving in the house of God because of the mercy of God he had received. Praise God.

Instruction.

If you are living in guilt or bound to any bad habit, I encourage you to respond to the mercy of God today. Receive forgiveness and turn away from every sin.
