"And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he
was hungry: And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he
might find anything thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but
leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and
said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter forever. And his disciples
heard it."
Mark 11:12-14. (KJV)
From
our opening scripture, we see Jesus speaking to a tree. This reveals to us that
everything that God created responds to words because they were made by words.
In
verse 20 of Mark chapter 11, the bible says, "And in the morning, as
they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots." This
makes me remembered what the Lord said to me many years ago when I was studying
along this context. He said, "You can kill anything from the root by your words."
Why is it so? It is because most of the challenges we go through are actually
created by words. So, if you are going to deal with the root issue, we must
change our words.
In Mark 11:21 the bible says, "And
Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which
thou cursedst is withered away." This shows us the power of words
whether positive or negative. In the scripture above, Jesus had spoken a curse
word the previous day to that tree, and it came to pass even as He said. What is a curse? A curse is a negative statement. Whenever, you speak a
negative word, you are speaking a curse, and whenever you are speaking productive
words in line with the Word of God, you are blessing. Every one of these words
spoken by you; directed to any circumstance or thing at any given time has the
potential of coming to pass, if you believe.
The bible says in Mark
11:22, "And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God." Do you have faith in God? To have faith in God is to have
confidence in God. In other words, you are not going to have faith until you
know God. Our focus most of the time is to have faith in faith, but the Bible
doesn't say have faith in faith, it says "... have faith in God."
PRAYER
Father, my faith is in you and in your Word alone. Thank
you for making my words potent with power to produce what they talk about. In
Jesus Name. Amen.
John 4:48-50,
1Kings 17:13-15, Mark 7:29-30.
DOING THE WORD
Call forth what you want to see and it will come. Curse
what you don’t want and it will die.
