“Now faith is
the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11:1
Faith is from the Greek word ‘Pistis’. It means ‘to
persuade, being persuaded, belief’. In general it implies such a knowledge of,
assent to, and confidence in certain divine truths, especially of the gospel”.
Faith also means confidence, a firm assurance, trust, conviction, etc.
Faith is a conviction of the reality of things we do not
see. It is the sign that the things which we have not yet seen are true. Faith
makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see.
Faith makes us certain that what we do not see and all that we expect will come
to pass according to the Word of God.
Faith is a persuasion. It is been fully persuaded that
God’s Word is real, inspite of how you feel, what you see or what you hear. It
is believing the Word of God and acting upon it. That corresponding action
based on your belief in the Word of God is what brings about the manifestation
of the Word of God in your life.
So, when we act according to our faith, we are confident
that we will not fail because we have the assurance of the Word of God. That
assurance is what causes us to disregard every other evidence that is inconsistent
with our faith.
It is also important to note that without the knowledge
of God’s Word, there can be no faith. So, how does faith come? The bible says
in Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the
word of God.” So if there is no Word, there can be no faith. This is
because faith is based on the Word of God.
In developing strong faith, you must know that God’s word
is true (Titus 1:2, Numbers 23:19). You must know that God is committed to His
Word (Jeremiah 1:12, Isaiah 55:11). You must know that God loves you (Ephesians
2:4, Romans 5:8).
CONFESSION
God is who He is. God can do what He says He can do. God
will do what He says He will do. I am what God says I am. I have what He says I
have, and I can do what He says I can do.

DOING THE WORD
Disregard every
other evidence. They are a mirage.
