Worship with your best gift.

“And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11(KJV)

From our opening scripture today, we see that when the wise men came to worship Jesus, after they fell down and worshipped, the Bible says that they also opened their treasures and presented gifts to Jesus;  gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. This shows us that your worship is not complete until you have given an offering.

When you study through the Bible, you will notice that it was their custom to always go with a gift whenever they were to go and see a king. This was why the Queen of Sheba brought so much gifts when she came to see Solomon the King of Israel at that time. (See 1 Kings 10:1-2) Why? She knew that she was going to do homage to a king. It was done as an act of honour.

Do you know that there are some Christians who give the least whenever they come into the house of God? The reason they give so little is not because that is all they have, no. They give the least because they think that when they give, they are giving to the Pastor and not to God.

We worship Jesus, and Jesus is a King. The Bible tells us about Him in the book of Revelation 19:16, “And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” Therefore, when you give in the house of God, know that you are not giving to the Pastor, you are giving to the KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. So learn to always give your best as an act of worship.

PRAYER
Dear Father expose every seed of falsehood that have entered into my belief system concerning giving, and I commit to always give my best whenever I am called to sacrifice in the church and for the kingdom in Jesus Name. Amen.
