Worship with your heart.

“Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.”
Matthew 2:1-2(KJV)

In our opening scripture, the wise men sought after Jesus, saying that they are “…come to worship him.” They came to worship, in other words, they came to do homage to Him, they came to adore Him.

God wants worship for us as His children to be a lifestyle. This is because when worship becomes a lifestyle, when we gather, the power of God will be stronger and there will be more results in our lives.

The question I will like to ask you today is this: is your worship always from your heart? It is important you always worship from your heart because any worship that is not from your heart is empty. Worship must be something you do deliberately from your heart to the Lord.

For instance, when you sing songs in worship to the Lord, all you attention must be completely taken off you and directed to the Lord.

Your worship will be empty if you are singing in worship to the Lord and then at the same time you allow yourself to be distracted with other things like using your hands to fix your hair and worshipping at the same time.

When you really want to worship God in songs, set out a time for it, do it with reverence with all your heart by delibrately turning your attention away from every other thing and everyone else including yourself to the Lord. It is then the presence of the Lord will be released mightily upon you because of your reverence for the Lord.

PRAYER
Today set out a time to give to the Lord undivided attention as you worship and adore Him because that is what he deserves.
